Tire Safety GuidelinesThere are a lot of things to know about rotating your car’s tires. It is a useful procedure to help keep your tires in the best shape to keep you off the side of the road. However, if you do get stuck you should call for roadside assistance to help you. To help keep you on the road, here are some things to know about rotating your tires:

1. The reason that you should rotate your tires is because of tire wear. By rotating your tires regularly, you can even out the wear on your tires and make them last longer.

2. Depending upon what car you have, it is recommended that you have your tires rotated approximately every five thousand to ten thousand miles. However, since every car is not the same, it is a good idea to check your owner’s manual to know what is the appropriate amount of miles for your car specifically.

3. Rotating your car’s tire is easy to do on your own if your have the necessary equipment to do so. It is important to check the pattern in which you should rotate your tires by reading your owner’s manual. However if you cannot do it yourself, your can bring your car to the shop and get it done professionally.

4. Usually the tires on the right side of your car wear more easily because they are exposed to curbs and other various road hazards. To avoid too much wear switch the tires to the left side of the car. Also, if you own a front-drive car, the front tires will have more wear. Therefore, be sure to check your tires for wear regularly because tire wear is an issue that should be taken care of immediately.

5. By rotating your tires in the proper amount of time will help reduce the cost of daily maintenance on your car. By evening out the wear on your tires, you can get better and longer use out of them, rather than constantly needing to buy new ones. Properly maintained tires help keep you safely on the road.
